Calling all Prince of Peace chefs and taste-testers!! If you love cooking (or sampling), this event is for you! As part of our commitment to the Calgary Pregnancy Care Centre, we will be hosting a chili cook-off on Saturday, October 29th!
Here’s what you need to know:
WHEN: Saturday, October 29th at 4:30PM
WHERE: Prince of Peace Lutheran Church gymnasium
COST: Free-will offering (all proceeds will go directly to the CPCC)
** We will also have a bin available for donations of baby items or gently used maternity clothing**
HOW WILL IT WORK? Whether you are competing in the cook-off or simply taste testing/casting a vote, we ask that you arrive at the Church by 4:30PM so we can provide some guidelines and start sampling each batch of chili! You will have an opportunity to stop by each chef’s table to sample some chili and cast your vote. Two winners will be announced at the end of the evening!
WHY: An opportunity to gather as a community, have time of fellowship (and good food), while supporting the initiatives of the Calgary Pregnancy Care Centre!
On each Sunday leading up to the event, Beka will have a sign-up sheet available in the narthex. This way we will be able to plan for beverages/seating in advance. The final day to sign up will be on Sunday, October 23rd.
Finally, we ask that those competing in the chili cook-off bring a side dish to go along with their chili. If you plan on taste-testing/voting, we ask that you bring dessert or side dish to share with everyone, as well!
If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to Beka Rekken (780-850-3151) or Steph Anhorn (587-225-2647).
So…grab your ingredients, start your crockpots, and let’s cook!!
